LANZAROTE

I recently had the pleasure of accompanying Falcon Travel on an education trip to Lanzarote, which took in Costa Teguise,  Playa Blanca and Puerto Del Carmen.  We were based in Costa Teguise in the All Inclusive Occidental Playa which is part of the Barceló Hotel Group.  Here a few of my thoughts on the different properties we visited.

Firstly, El Trebol, Costa Teguise, a hotel with so much to offer for families including a little splash park for the kiddies, free wifi for the teenagers and adults only bar.  A brilliant All Inclusive option for families.

On to the Los Zocos Club Resort, an impressive gem, totally geared for families, it has it all.  I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone.

Next the Occidental Lanzarote Mar, a very impressive hotel that caters for everyone from families to sport enthusiasts, with their Olympic size swimming pool, cycling centre, golf and water sports.  The kiddies have a fantastic kids club and with their own little pool to splash in and for the girls the very special “Princess for a day” room, I almost moved in here!

One of my WOW hotels, the Barceló Teguise Beach, this adult’s only resort is amazing, with its themed bars, infinity pool and junior suites with sea view and outside hot tub, I tried hiding under the bed but Martina spotted my toes sticking out, bummer!

Cinco Plazas Apartments were next on the list.  These are perfect for families, friends and couples, are very spacious and with the beach only a few mins away, they do exactly what they say on tin!!

Hotel Lanzarote Village,  a lovely property overlooking the beautiful Playa de los Pocillos.  The pool area is lovely and the rooms are very spacious, there are 3 bars with entertainment every night.  I would recommend this property for adults more so than families.

Ah now to the Seaside Hotel Los Jameos Playa, what a dream hotel.  I don’t need to say anything about this hotel only, bliss!!!!

Day 2 saw us head to the fabulous resort of Playa Blanca. First stop was the H10 Rubicon Palace, a beautiful hotel overlooking the sea, with its 7 swimming pools and restaurants, there is plenty to do there.  It is soon to become a 5* hotel.

We made our way to the H10 Timanfaya Palace, a gorgeous adult only hotel that caters for your every need.  With it being only 2 mins to the beautiful sandy Flamingo Beach it ticks all the boxes.

Next on the agenda the very family orientated Lanzasur Splash Resort.  This complex is a definite for families, I was really impressed with all it had to offer.  There is unlimited access to the splash park on site, unfortunately no time for me to spend on the slides or in the wave pool, maybe next time!!!

Finally on to the Family Life Flamingo Beach, a big resort with everything to offer for families with lots of different types of accommodation.  This property is on the beach and has direct access to the lovely prom so you have the best of both worlds.

Costa Teguise itself is a small resort but has loads to offer, every Friday night the Pueblo Marinero comes alive, there is also a market if you are looking for your genuine fake Michael Kors bags! There is an endless choice of very good quality restaurants and bars here, I would very easily spend a week here.

I also got the chance to visit the very unique Los Jameos del Agua, a warren of underground caves and the most beautiful lagoon I have ever seen.  There is also a 550 seat auditorium for weekly concerts with acoustics that are infamous all over the world.

Playa Blanca is also a lovely resort with its golden sandy beaches, bars and restaurants it really has an awful lot to offer, I will be going back here.
